Virtual Homecoming & School Spirit Days May 3 – 7, 2021

This has been such a strange year! Students all over the District have missed important milestones due to the COVID-19pandemic.

Ruby Van Meter is making plans to create Homecoming memories for all of our students the week of May 3-7, 2021, particularly for our graduating Transition students.

Spirit Days will include opportunitites for both In-Person and Virtual students to ‘dress the part.’

Monday, May 3: “Decade Day” – Dress from your favorite decade (50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, etc.).

Tuesday, May 4: “Pajamas and Slippers Day” – Wear your favorite school-appropriate pajamas and slippers.

Wednesday, May 5: “Hawaiian Beach Day” – Wear your Hawaiian shirts and dress like you’re spending the day at the beach. NO swimming suits! (Voting for Homecoming King and Queen)

Thursday, May 6: “Mismatch Day” – Wear mismatched clothing.

Friday, May 7: “Navy and Gold Day” – Show your school spirit by wearing navy and gold or a RVM shirt. You may also wear your favorite hat and/or sunglasses.

Friday, May 7th will be a very special Homecoming day for the graduates.

The graduates will parade around the circle drive at 9:30, cheered on by In-Person learners.

At 10:00 the Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at a virtual assembly attended by both In-Person and Virtual students.

The entire school will log into a Teams Virtual Dance at 2:00 to rock out to DJ Jazzy Gino on the screens in their rooms and their homes.

We are looking forward to a great week full of school spirit and fun! Keep an eye on the Ruby Van Meter Facebook page for Homecoming Week pictures.
