2021 RVM Homecoming & School Spirit Days October 4 – 8

Monday, October 4 (all day):

  • “Superhero Day” – Dress like your favorite superhero.
  • Live Healthy Iowa Healthiest State Walks during Related Arts Classes

Tuesday, October 5:

  • “Team Shirt and Hat Day” – Wear your favorite team shirt and hat.
  • 9:00-11:00 a.m.: RVM Pass and Kick Contest on the Callanan Field
  • 2:30 p.m.: Virtual Pass and Kick Contest Awards Assembly

Wednesday, October 6:

  • “Pajama Day” – Wear your favorite school-appropriate pajamas.
  • No special activities. Deadline for voting results to be sent to Tina Ballou.

Thursday, October 7:

  • “Navy and Gold Day” – Show your school spirit by wearing navy and gold or an RVM shirt.
  • 9:30 a.m.: VIRTUAL Volleyball Game (Log on to the RVM All-School Activity Team from homerooms).
  • 12:15-1:30 p.m.: Drake Carnival Outside – North Door Area & South Courtyard

Friday, October 8

  • “Hawaiian Day” – Dress like you’re going to a luau in Hawaii. NO swimming suits!
  • 1:00 p.m.: Walking Parade – North Door Circle Drive
  •  After parade: Coronation Ceremony – Outside if weather permits; Virtually if it is raining.
  • After Coronation: Virtual Homecoming Dance in Homerooms – Teachers can play songs according to student interest.

Our Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Mary Rickert.

Mary was a veteran RVM Speech and Language Pathologist and retired from Des Moines Public Schools at the end of the 20-21 school year. We are pleased she can join us for our Friday activities.
