A Note from the Nursing Staff
RVM Families,
Hoping that your students and the rest of your family are doing well, and that your health and wellness have been maintained with all that is going on in our world right now.
We want to share some information with all of you, as the pandemic is far from over.
Positivity rates and losses of life in Polk County and around the State of Iowa in November were the highest they have been up to this point in time. So far in December, we have hit records for numbers of Iowans who have lost their lives to COVID when on December 3rd 70 people died and on the next day, we lost 84 more Iowans. That is over 150 people in just 2 days.
Please be diligent in monitoring your student for any symptoms of illness. Look carefully over the information contained in the links below outlining the common symptoms of COVID, appropriate mitigation measures to reduce the spread including mask wearing, hand washing, and social distancing.
If you have any question or concern about sending your student to school, please do not send them.
Fever, cough, sore throat, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea are just a few of the symptoms associated with COVID. We prefer everyone err on the side of safety to maintain the health and wellness of the most fragile of students at DMPS. Do not hesitate to call or email with any questions or concerns. Stay safe!
