An Anonymous Donor gives Iowa Public Television money each year to decorate and enter a tree into the Blank Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees and Lights. The stipulation is that the tree be donated to Smouse Opportunity Center  (now Ruby Van Meter School)  after the event.  The tree is left up until the week of Winter Break.  The decorations are then removed with most going into the PBIS closet. The tree is given to a needy RVM family as part of the adopt-a-family program.

Volunteers from the 40th Annual Festival of Trees and Lights set up the tree in the Ruby Van Meter office on Monday, November 27th.
