Homecoming Week May 6-10!

Ruby Van Meter Homecoming is May 6th – 10th, featuring special dress up days and events. We will be celebrating our graduating class.

Grand Marshals for the Homecoming Parade this year are retirees Sue Avitt, Rocky Lindsay, Judy Taylor and Cindy Weisz.

SPIRIT DAYS

Monday, May 6th: Jammies Day 

  • Wear your favorite (school-appropriate) pajamas.
  • Clap-Around for Candidates; Homecoming King and Queen Candidates are introduced.
  • Senior Activity Day for Graduates

Tuesday, May 7th: Peace, Love & Kindness Day

  • Wear tie-dye or 70’s attire. Bring sunglasses for the walks.
  • Live Healthy Iowa Healthiest State Walk during Related Arts classes.

Wednesday, May 8th: Letter Day

  • Wear something with letters.
  • Deadline for King and Queen voting.

Thursday, May 9th: Mix-Matched Clothing Day

  • Mix patterns and mismatch your clothes.
  • Kickball Competition during Related Arts classes.

Friday, May 10th: Nice Clothing Day

  • Dress up for the Parade, Coronation and Dance
  • Picnic: boxed lunches on the lawn on the north side of the building.
  • Parade starts at 1:15 PM on the north door circle drive.
  • Coronation Ceremony after the parade.
  • Homecoming Dance in the gym.
